“This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to Me in the wilderness.”

Tehillah story

In 2014, a group of friends began meeting for regular prayer and worship, which soon grew into weekly regional gatherings (P&W).

In the early years, the community hosted 24/7 prayer and worship gatherings over Easter in a small building. In 2019, we were led to move this free worship out to an open field, and the first Tehillah Worship Festival was born.

The revelation around God inhabiting our spontaneous praises (Psalm 22:3), was what drew us to the name Tehillah. The honest song of praise we sing directly from our hearts to God, is where He desires to dwell, and He is looking for worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23).

We believe Jesus is calling His people to host spaces all across our land, to simply worship Him as one body, for no other reason than He is worthy and we enjoy Him. Many are being awoken to God afresh or making first time decisions for Christ in these spaces. A great "worship-fueled" harvest of souls awaits the generation who seeks His face.

Tehillah values…

Free-flowing worship

The festival is filled with continuous musical worship to minister to God’s heart, both through well-known songs we can all unite around and spontaneous expressions that give voice to the heart song of His people. As we lift Him up He is drawing people to Himself.

Breakthrough
prayer

Prayer times include open-mic intercession for topics such as revival, soaking/reflective times, and other moments of prayer. There is prayer and prophetic ministry available for those who’d like to receive it throughout the festival.

Fellowship & community

Enjoy slowing down to fellowship and connect with your friends and loved ones. Meet believers from other communities that you might not normally get to connect with, as we simply celebrate Jesus with one voice.

Leadership & beliefs

P&W consists of committed Christian leaders who come from a broad range of local churches and denominations within the greater Brisbane region, under the coordination of Kate Gurren, Steven Packer and Joel Boldero. We uphold the authority of Scripture, affirm the Apostles' Creed, and believe in the ongoing importance of spiritual gifts.

Leader endorsements

  • Jessie-Rose Rayner - Worship Pastor at Kingdom Culture Church

“I personally know many individuals who have been equipped through P&W, as well as unchurched individuals who were invited along by friends and are now born again Christians. For example, I know one young adult who came from a new age background who was invited to a P&W night. He was then connected to a local church, attended Alpha, then Bible College and went on to work in his school teaching the religion subjects and now serves on the worship team in his local church.

I can confidently endorse P&W as I have personally seen the positive spiritual impact it is making on the young adults who attend and serve.”

  • Pat Steele - Youth for Christ Missionary and Hope Movement Director

“A beautiful sound is being released in Australia right now, it's a worship movement rising up in simplicity, humility, and purity. P&W is at the forefront of this move, and the Tehillah gathering will be a glorious time to adore Jesus together.”

  • Rev Bruce Moore - Moderator of the Uniting Church in Australia, Qld

“There is a hunger across the globe as the psalmist proclaimed “I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever”(Ps 145:1). Worshipping Jesus for no other reason than He is worthy is the heart cry of an uprising who lift up their Tehillah in Prayer and Worship Gatherings across this Nation. I believe God is desiring a freshness of renewal - simple, free and pure in its heart motive of loving Jesus.

I urge you to consider attending the Tehillah Worship Festival ‘25 where I know God’s presence will fall heavy and inhabit our endless praise.”

  • Jeremy Riddle - Worship Leader and Songwriter

"I felt like I spent half of my time there just weeping in the presence of the Lord. Genuinely one of the most special gatherings I’ve been to. Thank you P&W for hosting this! The Lord is birthing something so special through your community! My heart rejoices to see it!"

  • Nick Riddel - Pastor of Worship & Prayer, Riverlife

Our community is all the richer from the relationships we’ve developed with the P&W team. They have been such a key influence in the formation of our worship team’s heart for Jesus and our ongoing desire to purely minister to Him! I’m so grateful for the humble and generous way they serve without agenda and just want to see the Lord get the reward He deserves.

Tehillah '23 was not only a beautiful offering unto the Lord but every member of our community were unmistakably changed from their time in the presence of Jesus. This event is a gift and these guys are the real deal and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

  • Kirk Delaney - National Director Vineyard Churches Australia, Senior Pastor Pine Rivers Vineyard

“A beautiful and powerful moment and space of heaven and earth connecting in Jesus and His people. For the greater glory of God and the joy of the people.”

  • Lochie Hogarth - Creative Pastor, Journey Church

“The Prayer & Worship crew have had a profound impact on myself and our worship team here at Journey Church. They have served and loved our community with great humility — their heart to worship Jesus and love His church is palpable.

Tehillah is a beautiful offering to Jesus and the church in Australia, I can’t recommend these people and this movement enough!”

  • Dan Sweetman - Senior Pastor of Lifepoint Church

“As a local Pastor and participant in P&W events and ministry I can fully endorse their effectiveness and impact in our great mission to see our region reached for Christ.

I recently baptised a new believer who has been regularly attending their Monday night prayer and worship night. Being part of P&W has helped her kindle a genuine love for Jesus and a rich and genuine prayer life. She is already praying for her friends, bringing them to church, and identifying areas of her life that need to change, all through a commitment to prayer.

There is a steadfast Godliness and consistency in this ministry that God has blessed, and I wholeheartedly commend them to you.”

  • Joanna Lee - Chair of the Board at Tearfund

“P&W has intentionally and thoughtfully remained an interchurch/interdenominational ministry with a specific focus on prayer and worship for the community, region, nation and world. In the process it has touched and formed the lives of many who have attended, volunteered and led its regular and one-off events. It has also been an incubator for creatives and facilitated the writing and release of worship music.”

  • Aaron Moore - Lead Pastor of Newlife Moreton

"P&W has been a transformative space for me, ever since this community formed. It’s here, I learnt what it truly means to minister to the Lord and step into intercession with Him. Tehillah creates a sacred moment to offer a unified song to the Lord, joining the chorus of Heaven."

  • Patrick Hegarty - Senior Pastor Kenmore Church

“For years the P&W team have inspired and equipped strong and sensitive worship leaders & teams that serve the needs of churches broadly. They have the gift of contextualising their ministry while consistently bringing tangible spiritual blessing."

  • Tim Neale - Teaching Pastor at Rivers Church

“The impact of P&W has not just been to the local body of believers but extends across the globe. Multiple missionaries have been sent out from the prayer community/network and continue to connect at times even from overseas.

I’m so grateful to God for the ministry of P&W for my own life and walk with Jesus, for the  strength and support it has provided to members of Rivers Church and the blessing it has been to the wider body and global worship movement.”
